This week, we are celebrating Maths Week England 2022 at St Peter's!
We are celebrating 'Maths Week England 2022' at St Peter's this week!
Maths Week is a national initiative to boost children's enjoyment and confidence in maths. At St Peter's, we will focus on the relevance and importance of maths in our everyday lives, beyond the walls of the classroom.
Throughout the week, we have three special maths-themed assemblies:
. On Wednesday, children will take part in a live, virtual assembly, with ex St Peter's student Tom Ranson. Tom will be showcasing his work from his 3D printing Lab at the Natural History Museum. We will explore the question: How is maths used to preserve fossils for future generations?
. On Thursday, the children will enjoy an assembly from School Governors, Dave Heather and Ferg Ranson, on how they use maths in their chosen trades.
. On Friday, we have a live virtual assembly from Rubert Cutler from the RNLI exploring the question of: How is maths used to help save lives at sea?
Our whole school challenge and focus this week is to develop the children's understanding of time. If you could support with this at home, that would be fantastic!
Thank you for your continued support.
